New Solo Show ‘ELEMENTS’ brings nature into the hospital environment

We all know the benefits of art on our health. The arts can substantially enhance lives and positively impact on patient care. Therefore it seems only right that art is being used to create safer hospital environments, to introduce nature into medical settings and enhance bland spaces through hanging art on previously sterile walls!

From personal experience going through a period of major illness a few years back, returning to my love of art was a major contributor in getting well again. Even simple creative pleasures like reading, writing and looking at art in galleries was just as important as physically creating art too.

My new solo exhibition ‘ELEMENTS: Blue Collection’ is currently showing at Aintree Hospitals, located in Aintree Lodge on the ground floor. Based on nature’s four elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. These represent key areas of focus in my current painting practise, from the two ‘Shard’ paintings (representing Fire) to ‘Coast-ilation’ and ‘Abstrakt Lake’ (both representing Water). There are six key works on display and attempt to convey a physical presence through personal intuition, expressive mark making and painterly improvisation.

It’s yet another venue where people who may not usually subject themselves to art can view a selection of paintings by different artists from their local area. There are currently six separate solo shows being exhibited at Aintree Hospitals until mid February next year.

Its a desire of mine to share my experience of the world through my paintings. An expressionist at heart, in reinventing the landscape I am attempting to create my own personal interpretations of what is vivid and charismatic. Currently based in the North West - Warrington and Kendal.
